Should I be concerned about this bug bite?

Question:

I live in Ohio (but am not from the area) & was outside in the grass 4 days ago when I saw a bug on my leg. From the 2 seconds I saw it, it was a grey color, had a skinny body with wings. I brushed it off my leg in a sideways sweeping motion so not to smash it into my leg, the bug burst and blood smeared across my hand and leg. That's when I realized the bug was sucking my blood and wondered if it had been a mosquito! I had been bitten by 100s of mosquitos in the past and thought nothing of it until later. At first the bite acted as a normal mosquito bite but about 1-2 days later the area where the bite was began to grow discolored into red and purple splotches 1/2 inch in diameter. It doesn't hurt, just itches a little but I'm worried about the coloring and how it hasn't gone away in days!
I got a check-up a month before and am in perfect health, nothing unusual at all and I'm taking no medication for anything.
What could have bitten me and why is the bite such a weird color?

You need to see a dr. This place might need to be lanced to get the poison out. The red and purple splotches don't sound good at all. This like this can turn into gangrene.

bug bites sometimes look like that if the bug got a lot of blood (gross, i know). i don't think you are in immediate danger, unless you start to feel sick. if you start to feel at all sick, i would go to the doctor/the ER immediately. however, if it doesn't go away in a day or two i would go to the doctor. good luck!
