What is the best way to get a splinter out?
Question:
Answers:
Either tweezers, a sharp needle or if these have failed, a piece of sticky tape. Place over the splinter and pull off in the opposite direction of entry.
paint it with a thick layer of nailpolish allow to dry then peel off the splinter should come right out.
Tweasers should workinabout 90-95% of all splinters.
Make sure apply some antibacterial ointment whenyour finished to prevent infection.
Tweezers! Or maybe nail polish as the other one said...
Tweezers will hopefully do it. If not, you can use a sterelized sewing-type needle to help, but that can get gross. Alternately, if you're going to sleep soon, you can try putting a small chunk of bread against it & holding it in place with a bandaid. The splinter will often fall out into the bread during the night.
Put some Elmer's glue (the white kind from school) on the splinter. Let set. When dry, peel back from the skin. Make sure you peel in a direction that pulls the splinter straight out. Not backwards. Pulling it backwards will just make the splinter break in half and leave part in your flesh.
Use Neosporin or some other topical antibacterial ointment after peeling glue.
Good luck.
I only remember the tradition way
Number 1:
Grab a pin/needle and sterilise the pin/needle by burning the tip for 20 seconds, to get rid of bacteria and then try pry the splinter out.
Number 2:
Grab your tweezers and pick at the splinter like you would pick out a pimple.
Yes both methods are slightly uncomfortable, but in the end, it should work (it has for me).
Soak it in epsom salt (you can find it at Walgreens in first aid isle), it'll pull out the splinter and any infection or bacteria.
