What is the worst pain that you've ever had?
Question:
What is the worst pain you've ever had?
Answers:
The RSD/CRPS1 seems to be by far the worst averaging 7-8 on a daily basis. I developed RSD when I fell showing a property to a client last Sept. 4,2006. I had fractured both my ulna and radius in my right hand. Today, I am now typing 1 handed and unable to run my own real estate business as the medications and lack of sleep would not benefit clients I would be representing with the needed legal documents I would be working with on their behalf . Plus safely drivng them around 1 handed really isn't smart. I have had several broken bones in my life. Left arm when I was 13, Car accident at 28 left me with a broken back, hip and pelvis leaving me to learn how to walk again. 31 I had broken my left foot but it still didn't stopped me... At 32 I began driving 5 yrs. for UPS and delivering till I suffered from a lower back herniation in 1987. It was then I took up real estate for 20 years till present. ( well last September.) Never with all the past pain mentioned ever stopped me from going forward. I raised 3 children pretty much on my own, putting them through college, played golf, rode a bike 20 to 100 miles a day, bowled, kept a clean home, and more but now I feel like----. Wish I could get back my positive attitude again. Thanks for listening.
Child birth

4 years ago, I was riding my mountain bike with close friends and you know we playing truth or dare at the same time, one of my friends dared me to put my right hand on my left handle bar my left hand on my right handle bar, that is how I broke my arm the third time, I was in EXCUCIATING pain because I broke both bones in two places and the bone went out of the skin causing a compound fracture, because of this I also have nerve damage in my arm so in the winter and summer the pain returns and it is just terrible plus the fact that we were playing truth or dare on bikes was pretty idiotic!
Two.
The first was on my last day of working at the Fire Department, I got hazed with a pound of butter on my head. I chased the guys outside to give some of it back, I quickly negotiated the stairs until the very last one and my boot caught.. I kept going but my foot didn't, I dislocated/tore the ligaments adnstretched the tendons in my left foot. It was excruciating, and it is still crooked.
The second occured 3 weeks later when I was moving , I fell into my broncos back glass, effectivly punching a hole into it... I cut my forearm up and had glass removed for years later. I still have a piece lodged in my arm.
O god, I was at a track meet competing in the hurdles. And I caught my foot on the hurdle in mid-air and landed on the back of my head and slid about 6 feet. I was out cold for a good 5 minutes before I finally woke up. I lost hearing in my right ear completely for a day or two, and its still messed up.
I think the CRPS is probably the worst pain I've been witness to. It is so unpredictable that it is enough to drive someone mad.
I have had a lot of knee surgeries and lately lots of complications with that, but by far the worst was this past September. I had bleeding in the joint a few days post op and could not move. My leg was stuck straight and filled with blood and was hot and swollen. I had to be rushed to the ER, where 100 cc's of blood was drained from just my knee alone. Three days later I had the same thing happen again. The doctors did everything they could to try and help my pain, but no drug touched it...morphine, oxycontin...nothing gave any relief and I was eventually knocked out. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
alot of pain during M&T and FESS procedures...ears ached, sore throat due to the tubings, and when the packs were forced out of my nose(which was used to stop the bleeding)...and also when BP was taken on IV site(my hand was like going to burst), and when the drip went dry, the tubes were red(blood)..and lastly, when the doctor stuffed packs into my nose and washed my nose..(i didnt feel pain for the first time cuz i was unconscious)~and i was only 15 years old then..2 yrs back.
Ear infections. They were worse than having a baby! Three days of excruitating pain, three days of tears. Even my doctor said I must have a high pain threshold to get through that and I was on my own too, no-one to help out. I shall never forget it.
