Whats the best muscle relaxer for a whiplash?
Question:

There is no one "best" muscle relaxer for this or any purpose. It depends on how your body responds to the medications. A couple I've seen good reports on are Flexeril and Zanaflex.
Naprosyn (?sp.) with med advice and script. Over the counter try natural biofreeze gel.
Advil, or a perscription. That or just relax and do gentle stretching exercises the next day.
I have severe neck and back pain and was given a muscle relaxer called Flexiril. It works; just makes me sleepy. I only take it when I can lay down and nap. Other than that I use the over the counter muscle creams like: Aspercream and Ben Gay. It's good if you can get someone else to massage the creams into ur skin.
Cryogenics.
If you actually have whiplash, time and heat will reduce the pain. However, if your doctor thinks you need something, he might suggest Soma. Good luck - but don't self-medicate - ask a doctor.
You dont say whether you've seen a physician, but I assume not -- or you'd have a prescription already.
The trouble with whiplash is, you can have damaged intervertebral discs, nerves and their roots, ligaments, etc. etc. etc...besides just overextended muscles.
You MUST be evaluated if you have suffered a sudden and/or violent extension of the neck muscles, as your central nervous system is quite easily damaged.
Otherwise, NSAIDs (non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve are sold over the counter and may help after a few doses.
Believe it or not, plain old-fashioned Aspirin is an excellent ant-inflammatory and pain reliever if you do not have stomach ulcers and are not taking prescription blood thinners.
Still, better safe than sorry...get an X-ray at the very least, an MRI would be even better, to determine if you have damaged your cervical spine.
Otherwise, you may sufer severe consequences days, weeks, months or even YEARS later!
GOOD LUCK!
