Question:
i'm going to the lake with my friends. it's a pretty huge lake out in the sun, not many trees. it's like a beach with lake-like water, i guess you could say. i have a few mosquito bites around my ankle that haven't healed up just yet. they've scabbed over but will it hurt to swim with them like that? will those waterproof circular-spot bandaides help at all?
Answers:
I grew up on the Mississippi (the mosquito's around here are really bad) and Iv always swam with mosquito bites and I don't think they ever got infected. I would just put hydrocortisone cream or triple antibiotic cream on it when you get out.
Ah, you'll be fine. Just make sure you shower, or at least wash them up afterward. If they're scabbed over, that should be enough to protect them. Have fun in the water.
yeah, it's safe. the only way bacteria and infection could get in is if it was an open sore. but it's scabbed over so you'll be fine and won't notice. have fun!!
If they're scabbed over you'll be fine. That will work as a nice barrier keeping impurities from entering the wound.
