First off, goto Welfare Rights, its their job to help you claim for everything you can. Secondly the car is provided by motability which is a charity, you have to give up some of your money in order to get the car, there is free cars which are yours for 3 yrs, youy only pay for petrol, then there are other more expensive models which require a deposit, the choice is extremely good.
This is strange, you say your husband but your avatar is of a male, is this a trick question??
A dla claim should take 11 weeks maximum to be processed. Phone them again and if you dont get any joy get your local welfare rights or cab onto it. They can help with the appeal as well if your application is turned down.
Make sure that youre also getting any other benefits you are entitled to as well. Again the cab or welfare rights can do a benefits check.
If youre awarded the higher mobility component (£43ish pw) you can lease a car through the motability scheme - your 43 covers the lease, repairs, tax, etc.
Hiya I used to work on DLA many moons ago. We always found that the cases that got dealt with quickest were the ones where the claimant had threatened to go to their M.P. or in fact had gone to their MP. Sometimes mentions of going to the newspaper with your story would do the trick. Good luck
Firstly, sorry about your bad luck! Secondly, to wait that amount of time for a reply to a claim is ridiculous! It should take 3 weeks tops! I would say that you are definitely entitled to that benefit. If I were you I would go to your nearest benefit office and tell them that you are not leaving there until you get a reply! Phoning these idiots is no use at all!! They will just keep putting you off because they can't be bothered to get off their arses! Good luck and don't take no ****!!
it does seem to take forever but hang in there for your results,,they will turn up sooner or later, but you can trade in some of your allowance for a car of your choice from a very long list of approved vehicles.
If and when you get the letter through it will tell you what you are entitled to and when you will get it,it is always backdated to the date you first asked for the 40 page application booklet.
Keep phoning them every week and they will tell you over the phone as soon as they know but they will not be able to tell you the amount over the phone just the decision.
Ypu can also claim for carers allowance for your wife/partner to care for you,get thet form submitted now as it will also be backdated to the day you got the benefits.
Hope this helps a bit...
I've been claiming disability living allowance for a few years now. All I can really tell you is that it does take around three months to process due to the fact all claims are renewed annually. I'm sent a form each year, three months before my claim is due to run out. Good luck with the claim and the ankle operation next year.
The DLA are slow , however still chase them up ,

Things will get better try and tough it out , if they ort his nkle out he may get back to work , or re train dont give up regardless of how old you may be

good luck and god bless
we had to claim attendance allowance for my mum it took 3 months even tho it was very straightforward and her financial situation is very simple. till that was dealt with i could not claim carers allowance. however when it did finally go thru we got paid a lump sum for all the weeks from the date of our claim. hope this helps. good luck and keep calling them to see whats happening.
first, ask yourself why anyone would assume that your avator remotely looks like you? then when you manage to wake up tomorrow. call your welfare agent and get some help over to your flat. you gotta big case there.
it does take a long time but it will be back dated. You should hear anytime now. Go and CAB or Welfare Rights they will give it a push for you
Have you claimed cares allowance?
Paracetamol for the pain, the crutches to go to work. How is he disabled? Bader fought for his country with no legs at all.
