Go to the dr. and get an xray
Only way to know is to get an xray. Go see your doc hun he can help you.
If your ankle is swollen and changing all sorts of interesting colors*, then it is a safe bet you have broken your ankle. Can you move your toes? If not, than it is definite.
Go to the doctor and get some x-rays done. That's the best way to know.
Hope you can get back to normal soon!
(* = By interesting colors, I mean the area is blood red, purple, blue, or even green. Might be one of these colors or all of them.)
x ray
it might by a slight hair line fracture. if that is the case then it would be painful but not visiable without an xray.
You go to the doctor, he/she performs a X-Ray and waalaaa!!
I'd say go straight to A AND E and they'll xray, cos my sis went drs 5days ago after falling over, her ankle swelled up huge and she can't walk. The dr said it was just a sprain, now, 5 days later shes at hosp now cos she can't walk and her foot is hugely bruised and swallon. Docs r useless. AT least with an xray no one can argue with the facts. Hope it gets better. My sis looked grosse.
First, check, the swelling, the fever, if there is any, more likely you have had a problem, do ice compress. Second, go to doctor to check with an x ray result. A totally broken knee wouldnt allow you to move. Then, you can consume MSM and Glucosamine suplement to heal the problem if your doctor tells you things are ok.
Breaking a bone is a big shock to your whole body. It's normal for you to receive strong messages from parts of your body that aren't anywhere close to the fracture. You may feel dizzy, woozy, or chilly from the shock.
Because a severe sprain can often mask the symptoms of a broken ankle, every injury to the ankle should be examined by a physician. Symptoms of a broken ankle include:
Immediate and severe pain.
Swelling.
Bruising.
Tender to the touch.
Inability to put any weight on the injured foot.
Deformity, particularly if there is a dislocation as well as a fracture.
A broken ankle may also involve damage to the ligaments. Your physician will order X-rays to find the exact location of the break. Sometimes, a CT (computed tomography) scan or a bone scan will also be needed.
