Legs stopped working?

Question:
Getting out of bed took a couple of steps then collapsed on floor. Couldn't find the thoughts to move them for 10 seconds then, half got up... collapsed again, one more try then ok. I hadn't been drinking

I'm thirty-something and is this jelly/no legs just one of those things (aka legs asleep) or do I go and see a doc as it could indicate something more serious.

Sorry to sound like a hypochondriac but not losing feeling in legs for even a few seconds has worried me.

Answers:
this can or is a very serrious situation you are talking about...
you may have a pinched nerve in you spine . it may just be the way you were sleeping and pinched off the blood supply to your leggs and they were just asleep, not very likely because you would have said more symptoms and didnt ! also it seems to have lasted to long for sleeping leg !
my advice is see a doc asap for a spinal exam! or a blood flow exam. maybe more ! ! ! !
If I were you I would go and see a doc, I had something similar 5 years ago and it was Encephalitis. Not saying it is this but it's better to be safe than sorry.
How awful call your doc and explained what happened.
Get up slowly and keep the back of your legs against the bed for a bit. If you' re dizzy, sit down or prepare to fall backwards. I had something similar this summer and it was a flu like thing that took a couple weeks to pass. It was worst in the morning.
