There really isn't a set time frame. You elbow will let you know. Take the ibuprofen and rest. That's really all you can do. Tendinitis is just from overuse. Rest it until you feel better. Or play with the pain.
He probably told you that you have tennis elbow. If so buy one of the tennis elbow wraps{strapes}, put it on 'properly 'and you will be good to go.
Okay, this depends on your activities. Yest it can be ten days, but if you do like the pros it can be cut almost in half. Soak your elbow in warm to hot water then immediately soak in cold water. Get some cream( A535) and rub it on. Repeat the dunking three to four times daily for six to seven days.
Things that you should not do.
1) Play baseball or any sports
2) Play with any girls in any way shape or form
3) Most important...don't play with yourself...use your other hand!
Okay...resting is good advice, but your elbow won't completely heal or even be suitable for activities taken place in baseball w/o physical therapy. I would try and help you with excersizes, but I won't even try to call myself a physical therapist. I didn't even need a doctors "prescription" for my achilles tendonitis physical therapy appointment, you just need to call the nearest therapist and they will tell you the RIGHT information so you won't get hurt repeatedly and end up hurting yourself even further than you are now.
