Fell and hurt my ankle?

Question:
I fell over whilst wearing high heels and twisted my ankle. That was about 3 months ago and though I iced it and did everything I was supposed to and saw a physio who gave me some exercises to do which I did, it still absolutely kills as much as it did at the time whenever I wear heels. Will it ever heal and is there anything I can do? The physio didn't really know what was wrong with it!

Answers:
Did you have an xray done? My sister recently went to the hospital with a sore ankle, she was in real discomfort, they did an x-ray and found that she had broken it before and she then had to have it in plaster!

Take a trip to the doctors and see what they say, perhaps it could be tendon damage, or a trapped nerve, but you need some proper medical advice.

Good luck and stay away from high heels!!

;o))
if you run out of ideas you could try alternative medicine like acupunture (not really sure how it is spelled)
Injuries to the joint areas (elbows, wrists, knees, ankles, etc.) can take a while to heal depending on the severity of the initial injury. In addition, if they are not allowed to heal fully, you run the risk of re-injuring them or weakening them. I would suggest that you wear a brace or wrap for about a month (even if it looks odd, and you don't get to wear high heels)--even if it "feels" better leave on the brace for the entire month to make certain there is time to completely heal. After the month, test out the ankle. If it gives you pain then, I would say you should see if there is any ligament or tendon damage by going to doctor.
Hope it heals.
I'd go to the doctor. i injured my ankle afew years back at cheer practice and never went to the dr because i had nationals the following weekend and did not want to miss them(stupid i know) anyway i thought that my ankle had healed but every now and then my ankle will start to hurt and i noticed that i twist it alot more then i ever used to. my point is that if you don't have this problem checked out then there could be more issues down the road and they could could lead to more serious problems...
best of luck
Your ankle will be weaker now as you will have stretched the ligaments. A support like tubigrip may help for a while but make sure you get the correct size as you don't want to impinge the circulation. The tubigrip may offer you support while you recover.
I broke my ankle 3 months ago. The fracture healed pretty quickly, but all the soft tissue damage (the sprain and strain of the ligaments and such) is taking forever to heal. I've been to a physical therapist for a month now, and I'm starting to get back into heels, but it's hard.
Honestly, you have to work on your flexibility and strength...that's what I'm working on. Stretch your foot forward and back and hold it for a few seconds...it hurts, and you have to do it just to the point where you can't stand it, but I'm noticing a difference finally. My bad ankle still hurts when I point it. I can stand in heels with no problem...it's when I put my foot down (heel, then toe) and I feel the stretch, that's when it hurts. I just have to keep working on stretching and making it more flexible.
Plus, increasing strength will help keep you from twising your ankle again in the future. Try balancing on your bad foot. The longer you can go, the better it's getting.
