walmart sells OFF bracelets u can wear to repel the little buggers or u can pin a fabric softner sheet to u sounds weird but it works
use skin so soft soap and eat a lot of garlic
Not full proof, but have found not wearing any scents helps a lot.
smoke keeps them away...light a fire or with a cigarette
try rubbing lavendar oil on your instead. its all natural and is supposed to keep all biting bugs at bay.
There are natural (I assume you are trying to get away from DEET) lotion repellents out there. My friend used Burts Bees in Guatemala and said it worked great. And watch what you are adding to your natural scent, perfumes, deodorants, shampoo, etc.
Avon's skin so soft, and there's a new one on the market, you spray it on and it's like baby powder, not oily or greasy !! The name of it just went out of my head, so ask at your drug store.
If you are going to be in an isolated outdoor place, try fogging the area. The foggers work for up to 7 hours. Also, try lighting citranela candles as well.
When I travel I use regular formula Bounce dryer sheets. I put one around my neck I can also attach them to my socks. If I am wearing white socks it isn't suspicious. I think they are made with oleander scent which mosquitos don't like. Also when I do receive a bite I put liquid dish detergent ( I am partial to Dawn) on the bite immediately just rub it into the bite and the itch goes away. I carry a little 1 oz bottle with me.
Since I have been allergic to mosquito bites since I was little I think I can help you out. When I get bites I swell up like a balloon. First and foremost I wear long light loose pants if I know I will be outside most of the evening. Mosquitos seem to love legs and arms the best.Grab a sweater or sweatshirt(light). Second candles, torches or a fire is a good place to hang near. Smoke seems to repel them away. Third I do not wear any scents like perfume or body spray. There are a line of products that repel but have Deet in them. The best that works for me is Avon's skin so soft, and they have updated it so it does not smell like my grandma(lol). It does not include deet. I have also learned that taking my essential vitamins daily have kept them away including B-12 and Vitamin C and iron. If you do get them dab a cottonball with a little bleach on it and it will dry up and it wont itch. Neosporin is wonderful for any bite, scratch, pimple, whatever!! Love that stuff! Oh and make sure you are not near any wet damp or small water filled areas they swarm those places.
go to a health food shop, get pure essential oils, not synthetic: eucalyptus, lavender, citronella. mix a few drops in almond oil and wipe on
Rubbing Elderberry leaves on your person will repel insects, as well as your friends. The smell is so powerful it completely masks your human scent which attracts the insects. For picnics and barbecues, cut off an Elderberry branch, stamp on the leaves to release the smell and attach it to your chair. It's always worked for me.
Keep a dryer sheet in your pocket, I know it sounds silly, I thought so to but I tryed it and it works.
