Does some body know an easy and not expensive home remedy of constipation?

Question:
My brother is suffering from constipation for a long time and nothing(alopathic, homeopathic and herbal medicines)have worked so far. Please help him by giving some tips or any thing that u could tell him to get rid of this deseas.

Answers:
He needs to drink plenty of water, eat a high fiber diet & be active! Immobility & dehydration are the leading causes of constipation. Metamucil & stool softeners help for maintenance, too.
Though it is a medical condition, it is really not a disease.
He should drink plenty of water and eat foods that contain lots of fiber (fruits and vegetables) if this does not help, he should see a doctor, as it could be a more serious problem.
Try enemas or you can use Epsom salt. Yes it is a laxative. Also I know eating my be far from his mind but drink lots of water and try to eat as much fruit and veggies as possible.

In the future try doing stomach strengthening exercises and keep up the fruit and veggies.
Guava when eaten with seeds provides roughage to diet can give relief from constipation. Add more fruits to the diet prunes pears, grapes, Orange juice & Papaya. Try One tablespoonful of corn syrup added to 8oz of water to cure constipation
Another natural remedy for constipation is to add a little extra sugar or some honey a glass of milk. Drink twice a day
My neighbours give me the shits. Come visit them for an hour or so.
Fruit and milk helped me.

prune juice, apple juice, plenty of water intake, or castor oil, nasty but it works. give him a fleet, it is a suppository that might help also. plenty of fresh green veggies too.
prune juice
Well, I find that eating craisens(dried cranberries) and pitted prunes keep me very regular. The pitted prunes taste better if you keep them refrigerated and remember not to eat too many. Corn is a veggie that will keep you regular also, but you should see if your brother is diabetic 1st because corn has a lot of natural sugar in it. Green tea may help as it works as a duretic by flushing out your insides. These are all "natural" and if worked into your diet either daily or 3-4 x per week would probably get rid of the problem. However, you should check with your brother/his doctor 1st because he may be on meds that might not react well with certain foods. Fiberall is nasty, sandy , gritty stuff and I would not recc.this. An increase in his dietary fiber might help also. Make sure he is drinking lots of water (more than 8 glasses p/day.did you know that for every cup-8oz.-of coffee you have to drink 2 cups of water to flush it out of your system?!) Hope it helps.
Right. Your "brother"

Oranges, mandarins, prunes and castor oil. Castor oil should only be a last resort as it works very fast.
