Well, without the availability of chemicals, there are a few simple things that you could do [this is what i do].
1- apply pressure to the area, see if that suppresses the pain, like what you do when you get a sidestich.
2- flex and move around your back, hunch over, sit up straight, twist your back, just try to find a position where the pain stops. If you do find that position, stay in it.
If neither of these things work, and the pain continues at work, you should tell your boss you cant work effectively and go to a doctor or chiropractor.
Muscle tension, try going to a massage therapist that deal with deep tissue. Or even a DO to get an adjustment. Stay away from Rx painkillers, try motrin or ibuprofen.
First question, do you have chronic pain issues? I ask this because you had access to prescription pain meds and most people can't get a hold of them that easily. Second question, what was the pain med? You may have pulled a muscle in your back and a muscle relaxer may be a better option. Try soaking in a hot bath for a while to loosen the muscle. For right now try putting an ice pack on it that will help dull the pain for now.
Most likely you are having a muscle spasm in your back. You can try to fix this with some stretching on your own...look in google images for back stretches if you dont know any. If this doesnt solve the problem in a couple of days then it is a good idea to suck it up and see the doctor (dont go to the ER it will only cost your more, unless you are in severe pain). The doctors office can set up a payment plan if you have difficulty paying.
Hi, You might try flushing out your kidneys out with cranberry juice. I had that problem.
Sounds like a muscle contraction.Take some kind of aspirin to dull the pain then, very slowly, with your hands on either side of your back bend your torso over your hip, SLOWLY,come up and do the other side, then bend in front. Your sleeping badly, get rid of the pillow and try to sleep tummy up as straight as possible. Do the exercises a few times. With a contraction if you stretch the muscle in the opposite direction, slowly you can usually get the contraction to subside.Good Luck
Try something stronger like some Iboprofren and get some cream the you can rub on and also try soaking in the tub with some epsom salt and see what happens then
