Help , where is this pain coming from?!!?
Question:
Ive got pain , best to describe , its radiating from around my right buttock.
I was playing football around 14 days ago , but it wasnt sore for around 5 days after that , and i dont recall any incidents playing football where i might have injured it.
When i sneeze , the pain instantly shoots in that area , as if the sneeze is directed straight there.
The thing is its not sore to touch , i can hit the area with my fist reasonably hard and it wont hurt , only when i make certain movements then it hurts?
where could this pain be coming from? the bone or a nerve??
Answers:
Sounds to me like it could be your sciatic nerve. Maybe you knocked something out of alignment. Consider ice, motrin, rest, a chiropractor and if it continues to persist, see a doc.
It sounds like it could be a pinched nerve in your back possibly from playing football. I would see a doctor.
It's coming from the muscle you strianed it it will be ok
I bet it is pinched nerve.
It could be a nerve that's getting pinched or impeded by your spine or a muscle. Feel around the muscles in your butt and see if anything seems really tight or sore. If you find something use a tennis ball and sit/lay on it while moving around to try and rub it out. A test you might be able to do to see if it's a muscle is this:
Lay on your stomach and bend your leg (the one on the side that hurts) 90 degrees. While keeping that knee bent move your foot left and right (towards your other leg and away from it, like you're trying to touch your foot to the back of the other knee, and then away from it). If that causes the same pain you feel now then it's probably a muscle issue and almost for sure it's piriformis. Try rubbing it out, stretching, icing it, etc.
If it persists it would be good to go to a chiropractor or massage therapist. If they can't help you, see your normal doctor.
Good luck!
