Chest pains while pregnant. What to do??

If you have thought about going to the ER, then you should either call your OB (most OB's have a 24 hour emergency line) or just go ahead and go to the ER (as long as you have somebody to drive you) or call an ambulance. But consider your level of pain (they'll ask on a scale of 1-10). It could be something as harmless as muscle pain from the baby's weight pulling on you or something much more serious. Remember if you are in lots of pain, your body is distressed and therefore your baby's going to be under stress. My first step, as long as you don't think you are dying (which I assume you are not if you are able to get on YouQA.com s) would be to call your OB. If he does not call within a reasonable time and you are still very distressed, go to ER.
I'm not sure how far along you are but...later in your pregnancy, the baby can put pressure on your diaphragm, pushing it up thus causing chest pain. Let's face it, it's getting a little cramped in there! Also, for some strange reason, it's not unusual for women to experience gallbladder disfunction during and after pregnancy. I started having the same symptoms...chest pain radiating to my back...the day after my son was born, also not too bad at first. When he was 7 weeks old, the pain was so severe I had to go to the ER. An ultrasound confirmed gallstones and I had my gallbladder removed the next day. My point being...you can't be too careful. Go see your doctor.
The information provided is not complete and it is always a good idea to seek medical help in such cases. It could be simple indigestion or the pressure of the baby etc., or something else.
GO TO THE DOCTORS PLEASE
Are you going to a Dr? If so contact the office right away. During pregnancy the blood supply is greatly increased to provide for all the needs of the baby and it is without a doubt that there is extra strain put on the heart. Don't play with chest pain... it could be simple, like gas or serious like real heart issues. Don't panic just get checked out.
If you are not seeing a Dr yet you may want to go to the ER. Remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
heartburn induced by pregnancy
Go to the doctor or atleast call a doctor. They will most likely want you to come in to see them, anyway
