How bad would it hurt to get a smalish tatoo on the back of my left sholder?

I promise it would hurt more down the road than it will during the process. Your body has a lot of pain sensors in that area, so be very sure of your choice to do this to your body. It lasts a lifetime.
just a little sting, that's where i have mine it's about the size of a quarter, but what really hurts is if they have to touch it up cause they didn't get the color right the 1st time

it really all depends on you. your pain tolerence as well, my voice coach told me that when she got it done everytime they put the needle-ish thing in it hurt as much as if you pinch yourself really hard, and my mother also said it hurts more when its on a bone. but yet if you REALLY want it, and you think you can handle the pain enough, then go for it... but make sure nothing rubbs against it and put lotion on it, my voice coach and mom told me it helps A LOT
It depends on the design, meaning if you want a smooth picture the "sticks" would really be numerous. Now, it will only hurt the first few "sticks", for me like a blade scraping your skin, but then after sometime, it gets numb, so it gets okay. Unless you want to have those topical anesthetic agents. But they say, a tatoo is not a tatoo without the pain.
It is easy. I thought the pain would be bad, but it hurt worse after getting it done then actually getting it done. After it is like one big scratch.
