Is it possible for only one tonsil to hurt?


Question:
Yesterday morning I woke up with a pain below the jaw...midneck...and it hurts all the way up to my ear...oww...only one side hurts though...i dont feel any pain when i swallow or anything but i have some phlegm... is it possible for only one tonsil to hurt.my throat loos pretty red...I will go get cheked...but before I go, I was wondering...thanks
