How do you know how many post operatvie visits you have?

Question:
insurance compaines deny claims for post operative visits b/c they are not paid separately its the doctors that are greedy and are trying to get paid for these post operative visits but how do you know how many visits you have

Answers:
Well, it would depend on the surgical procedure that you had. Most insurances companies cover up to 3 months, including no co-pays when you do follow-up with the surgeon. Call your insurance company and ask them how many visits are covered. Provided that there have been no complications then your Primary Doc will need to give another referral to the surgeon for additional follow-ups, if needed. Also, it can depend on what type of medical insurance that covers you. I hope that this has helped.
In April I had major back surgery, 3rd one, and 3 post op visits were included in my surgical bill. The x-rays taken each time were billed but not the 3 appointments with the doctor. I would imagine it depends on the surgery, and recovery time, and their billing methods., and the insurance company. Good luck
