Chest pain concern?

Question:
I have really bad issues with gas and sometimes it causes pain in the chest area but for the last 2 days I have had this moderate pain on the right side of my chest more toward the top and it hurts when I turn and sometimes when I breath in and it comes and goes but it is still painful.now I have also been doing some heavy lifting at work, is it possible that I could have just pulled a muscle or does it sound like something I need to be going to see the doctor for?

Answers:
It is possible that you pulled a muscle, but any type of chest pain should be evaluated by a physician. ALWAYS! Better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to chest pain.

JOY
It does not sound cardiac. It sounds like a pulled muscle. If there are no other symptoms associated with this pain than a pulled muscle is the most likely explanation.
I would go see a doctor.
sounds like heart burn/acid reflux
check with your doctor
yes i think you should see a doctor, it sounds like you pulled a muscle maybe when you where trying to get rid of your trapped wind, you might want to see the doctor about gastric or severe heartburn.
Better go see the Doc. Chest pain is nothing to put off, especially for women. Women don't get the same heart attack warning signs as men and suffer the consequences worse. Even if it is a digestion problem it could be a progressive condition. If it is a pulled muscle it could require treatment to aid in recovery. So don't hesitate get to your Doctors office.
Based on your symptoms, read about the following:
1. GERD. You mention issues with "gas", which I assume means belching and heartburn. GERD can cause chest pain.

2. Pleurisy. Inflamed lining of your lung causes pain while breathing. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pleuris...
3. Costochondritis. Inflammation of cartilage around ribs and breastbone. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/costoch...

In addition, read about these, and more, causes of chest pain at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chest-p...

If the pain continues more than two weeks, you may want to see a physician for evaluation, diagnosis, and medications.
