Help. I have been diagnosed with Sacroiliitis.?

Question:
I had one injection already and it was being viewed on the screen so the doctor could see where to put the needle. My joints or hips are very jagged, like a serated knife. Is this normal? I need some help here. I can not find it anywhere on here to answer my questions. Thank you and GOD bless you.

Answers:
The SI joint itself is a very irregularly shaped joint...it follows somewhat of an oblique line along the course of the joint, but also has an oblique surface (kind of cut at an angle)...this can make it look irregular on flims. I am assuming you meant the SI joint...if you were referring to the actual hip joint (the articulation between the head of the femur and the acetabulum..aka, the "socket", then no this should not be jagged). However, it is common for peple to develop bone spurs along the course of their hip joint...a common finding in arthritis.
Here's the Mayo Clinic's site info on it.

Hope you feel better soon!
