How can I start waking up earlier?
I keep sleeping until dinner time, because I keep going to sleep at about 5am. but now I can't train myself to go to bed earlier, because I'm not tired! and I need to wake up very early next week., starting sunday, and I don't have much time to do it gradually.

try and stay up 24 hrs then by the time evening comes you will be tired enough to sleep.
Set your alarm clock on time and wake up you should hear it although one time I did sleep through my alarm lol.
Try not to sleep at all for a whole day, and then go to sleep early, it might work.

I have the same problem when I have time off from work. You just have to force yourself to get up early and you will be very tired, but you will eventually be tired enough to go to sleep earlier.
Take vit C. Lot's of it.
Go without sleep until a natural bed time. Make yourself do it. It will only take one day to get on a regular schedule.

Just start waking up at the time you need to tomorrow. Go to bed when it should seem appropriate to wake up that early. Sure, there's no time, but hopefully, if you are able to wake up by some kind of alarm clock, cell phone, bull horn, you can get that to wake you up early until you fall into the pattern yourself of naturally waking up earlier and sleeping earlier. It takes a while to get used to, but you can switch schedules, it's just really hard at first during the "adjustment stage".

Have a kid, it works for me, I have 2 and I never sleep. Works wonders. But if thats not an option, try taping golf (or something equally as boring to watch) and watching it around 10 pm, you should be out in a few minutes and hopefully sleep through the night, and be up early. Good luck.
You need to force yourself to wake up earlier and eventually you will start going to bed earlier each day, that is if you don't take a nap between waking up in the morning and going to sleep at night.

Try going to bed at a normal time and start setting an alarm clock. That is the only way. I wouldnt recommend taking any sleeping pills especially if you work or are a student.

DONT GO TO SLEEP. you'll be really tired in the evening if you dont let yourself sleep and then you can get back on a sleeping schedule.

It is going to take some time to get used to. I used to be a total night owl too. You need to have someone wake you as early as you can (close to a time when you would like to start waking up). You can do it on your own, but it is harder. If someone wakes you, you tend to stay up. Then stay up! Don't lay down or sit down, keep really busy and then around midnight go to sleep. Do this day after day making bedtime the same or earlier (depending on what you want) and your wake up time earlier as you go. It works.
you arent tired yet at 5 am because you get up so late...in order to reverse this even if you go to sleep at 5am set a good alarm for the time you need to get up and make sure you get up..try putting the alarm clock somewhere that you have to get up and walk over to turn it off...or put it in your bathroom if its close to your room then as soon as you turn off your alarm you can splash some cold water on your face...that way if you get up at the time you need to get up you will be tired by a reasonable time to go to sleep.also lay low on the caffine during the day if you tend to have a lot...ha ive been there so i know how hard it can be you just dont want to go to bed haha good luck :o)
If it's not gradually, there are not many chances to succeed it.
Some will suggest you some pills or medications, but I would say no to it.
To "survive" next week, I would suggest this: relax saturday, don't do anything, just laying would be the best. So you will be rested enough for sunday. After that, you will have some little problems, but I think after that, you should go to bed about 10:00 pm, even if you don't sleep, your body will at least regenerate a bit.

Try going to bed a little bit earlier each night and set an alarm for 8 hours later and get up when it goes off no matter what. If you go to bed an hour earlier each night than the night before you'll be back to going to bed at 10pm by the end of the week. If you find that you just aren't tired one hour earlier you could try taking Tylenol pm or a little NyQuil just to help you doze off.
get out and do stuff ! & don't nap or anything, just force yourself to get up and be very busy busy busy =)
I know what you mean, i have a moderately full shedule but find myself staying up till 2am sometimes lol
i then hate myself the next morning when i have to get up =(
