Do you get enough sleep?

Question:
What keeps you awake?

Why do we differ in how much sleep we need?

Do you wake long before the alarm goes off?

Do you go off as soon as your head touches the pillow?

Answers:
Most people need 8 hours of sleep nightly. Naps or sleeping all day do not make up for lost sleep. Some people are morning people and some are night people. Each person needs to adapt to the life style that agrees with their circadian rhythm. People who enjoy what they are doing usually wake up before the alarm but don't rely on it.
Things that keep you awake: bills, unhappiness, indigestion, exercise just before bed, noise, worries, and on...
Some people can put everything out of their minds and go to sleep within seconds. I believe you can train yourself to do this. These people are more successful and don't get hung up on life's little problems.
it takes me a while to fall asleep at night, however i do average about 10 to 11 hours per night. i rarely wake up before the alarm clock goes off. i think that people vary in sleep needs because there are different body types and lifestyles that factor into a good nights sleep.

We differ because of how we are built etc!

Yes, because waking up by the alarm is actually a TRAUMA for the body, and to avoid that the body will make itself wake up before it goes off!

I have always had sleep issues...I work long hours and workout after work...sometimes I just can't sleep...on the weekends i try to take naps to catch up...I guess everybody is different
I never get enough sleep, I am always tired.

The tv keeps me awake. Lights keep me awake.

I wake up like 2 hours before the alarm goes off...and also one minute before it goes off. even though I get up at different times every day, I seem to always wake up 2 hrs before then one minute before. its very wierd.

No matter how tired I am, it takes me at least 20 minutes to fall asleep every night. And i usually only sleep for about 5-6 hours a night.
Suffered insomnia since a child reading till the wee small hours and it takes me ages to get off to sleep. I resort to the World Service sometimes. I always wake up in time for work but if not I have seen me sleep for two days solid so I reckon your body will just send you to sleep when you really need it. I have gone through every remedy known to man and nothing works or else you get addicted to it. We differ because we all lead different lives my body clock is I am a night person - my partner is naturally inclined to get up early and bed early. So we have had to compromise. With me the days events and worries just go round and round - I am thinking of taking up yoga again as this helps. Good luck, don't lie in bed - get up have a drink, read, try and relax and it may work. xx I have given up!
I vary. Most nights i cant switch off and get to sleep, then i cant get up in the morning. i once slept for 20 hours. normally i sleep for about 8 to 9 hours. any less and i feel very poorly.
I do get enough sleep

noise, light, heat and some times mussel ache

There are different types of sleep maybe people that sleep less have a high % of the sleep we need

I wake about 1/2 an hour before the alarm cos the dogs start pacing up and down

I get to sleep soon after going to bed most nights
i have to have enough sleep. don't function well otherwise. i sleep as soon as my head touches the pillow and if i go to bed on time i will be up b4 my alarm goes off
I cant sleep when I am worried alot about stuff like bills, work or my son. I almost always wake up before the alarm goes off, it usually takes me a while before I fall asleep. I guess everyone is different in sleep because it depends on their lifestyles.
Most people in the states do not get enough sleep. I am sure its because we allow ourselves so a hectic lifestyle. Working 2 jobs, worrying about kids and work and ..so on keeps me awake. I get so wound up its hard to relax.
we differ in how much sleep we need because people have different needs
I rarely awake before the alarm goes off
Fall asleep soon as the head touches the pillow, on rare occasion I cannot sleep - and thats because I'm too wound, too much cafeine or too tired.
