How long should I wait until returning to football after breaking my collar bone?

Question:
I broke my collar bone July 18th, when would be a good time to return?

Answers:
You should ask your doctor.
1 year
A long time.
Thats serious.
Ask your doctor
And
Dont start untill the wait is over.
That is a recent time period & you may miss part of the season.
I would wait and let it heal as well as possible.
Get it X-rayed and talk to your doctor. You do not want to set yourself up for a recurring injury. It will cost more in the long run if that happens.
I broke my ankle on a parachute jump and I could not jump for about 6 months.
I was grounded by the National Guard until it was proven that I was OK.
I had to get X-rayed a lot and get an Army doc to approve me.
The collarbone is notoriously easy to break. DO NOT go back to ANY contact sports until the bone has fully healed and your doctor gives the all clear.

Going back too early is only setting yourself up for more injury and damage. Listen to the doctor.
