My foot hurts?
Question:
Answers:
There are lots of reasons for foot pain -- plantar fascitis (often from not wearing supportive shoes), muscle cramps (sometimes a lack of potassium), or nerve problems (usually this is shooting pain, though), but my concern is that it hurts with no pressure on it. If it came on very suddenly, it could be a mucle cramping, in which case it should go away in a few hours or overnight. I think the biggest worry is that it might be a stress fracture. Honestly, if you have insurance or can afford it, I'd get an x-ray to be sure. If it needs to be more immobilized to promote healing, it chould be checked out. I think it sounds bad enough to have it looked at.
Do you mean on the sole of your foot about where your big toe meets your foot, or on the top of the foot where the big toes meets the foot, or on your big toe? The exact location of the pain can give a better indication of what might be wrong. You could have a stres fracture in the sesmoid bone, could have a bunion forming, could have turf toe, could be something else.
