What kind of ankle/foot injuries can be the result of walking too much?

Question:
The walking was on relatively even surfaces, but i was on my feet almost constantly for about 8-10 hours. There is tenderness, bruising, and I am unable to bear weight on my left foot. There is no overly visible swelling, however. My mom believes it is simply the result of walking so much, so what ankle/foot injuries have been known to occur with walking and being on foot too much during a day.

Answers:
Are you a heavy person? Heavy persons tend to put their weight on the knees and ankles which result in wearing off of cartilage. There is a distinct possibility of arthritis or tendonitis. You need to have a routine check-up with your ortho to confirm whether there is any injury to your ankles because of your work.
probably the overuse and the over heat of ur ankle generated these bruises,
also sweeling of soft tissue and maybe a swollen tendon depending on how hard it got,
next time try bringing a water bottle JUST for your ankles, and water them just about every 30 min , dat should prevent the overheat.
hope it helps
You can pull the perineal muscle which may effect your balence.
I work in a physical therapy department at the hospital. Your problem my be due to a sprain or strain of some muscles. I highly recommend going to your doctor. He may recommend physical therapy which would help you increase strength of those muscles. Good luck
Sometimes there is no major injury, just that your feet have been used to much...sometimes you can have a simple sprain in your ankle from overtreading it sometime while you were walking. I would keep off my feet for awhile, keep it elevated, maybe some ice on it.and advil would work.
Could be a stress fracture, or frankly, quite a number of things.
A there's a foot injury that you can get called a March Fracture. That's usually occurs in your fifth metatarsal.
Keep your foot elevated to encourage the swelling to go down and use an ice pack to help.
Keep your weight off it as much as possible so as not to aggravate the injury.
