How long does it take for an Achilles Tendon to heal?

Question:
Here's some more info.: I've done exercises to stretch out my calf & hamstring. When I bring my foot towards me so my toes point to the ceiling is when the pain occurs. I am assuming that it's my Achilles.

Answers:
Its your achilles tendon.probably tendinitis. Healing will depend on how well you rest it in the next 3-4 wks and if you cont stretching and icing the area at least once a day. To ice down the achilles do this...fill a paper cup with water and freeze it, then peel back some of the cup to expose some ice and rub that on the area that hurts for 4-5 mins until numb. You will have to push through some uncomfortable pain to get to the point of numb. Do this daily for the next 2 wks or so. If you see no change in pain level then you should see a doctor.
I'm not sure if your symptoms show an Achilles tendon inflammation. You can ice where it hurts by 20 minutes 3 times a day. But if I were you I would go to a Doctor. I had it so I can say the pain was exactly in the tendon and no other signal. It took a long time to heal, 6 months, but it doesn't mean you'll spend the same time.
Take care and good luck.
