When you get stabbed why does it burn?

And why is it called COLD STEEL?

Answers:
i should imagine its because the nerve endings are severed shingles attacks the nerve endings as does siatica and they both give a burning sensation xxx
it burns because theres been trauma to the tissue and the nerves are reacting to it.

and its called cold steel because...well...its steel and...uhhh its cold?
Sounds like you've more experience of it than me! Steel is generally pretty cold in it's usable state.
