Are contact lenses supposed to hurt?
Question:
Answers:
Contact lenses aren't supposed to hurt, even for a little. There are several explanations:
1. Your prescription is too small. You may need to go see another optometrist and get properly fitted. That happened to me, and it was painful. It made my eyes watery and red. Same with you?
2. You are not changing your lenses often enough. They should be changed AT LEAST every two to three weeks, depending on the kind. Check with your doc.
3. Are you just putting fluid in the case? You need to clean your contacts case, too.
4. Do you wash our hands before you put your contacts in, or do you use spit? Don't use spit. I hear some people do that. bad idea. Sorry to sound condescending-you sound smart, after all, but I like to cover all bases.
5. You may be wearing your contacts for too long (over 8 hours) . Mine tend to dry my eyes out after then. Use eyedrops or a cold compress when they are not in your eyes.
If all else fails, seek professional help. I hope everything works out! ;)
Well let's face it, you're sticking something foreign into
your eye, and it's sensitive! If the pain goes away, I
wouldn't worry. I have very dry eyes, so contacts were
NEVER comfortable enough for me to wear. I hated them.
i got my contacts a few days ago and it does bug my eye when i put them in but it doesnt really hurt me tho just bugs me sometimes. or maybe im just not used to them yet.
Mine do sometimes, but I have special contacts because I have an astigmatism, and they are specially weighted, so sometimes it hurts a bit until the thicker part moves to where it is supposed to be.
It's normal when you first insert them. Like the person said, contact lenses are a foreign body on the surface of your eye. They don't belong there.
that is normal. Mine does the same thing.
i wear contacts 2 and it always hurts when i first put them in...but only for a few minutes sumtimes seconds. i think its normal lol
