I reinjured my knee and there is lots of swelling...?

Question:
I had surgery for a broken kneecap and a torn medial ligament in my left knee, and it was healing quickly. Now, after swimming and bike riding, there is swelling and i can barely put weight on it. The thing is,the pain is in the BACK of my leg where the knee is. Could i have strained the muscle, thus putting extra pressure on the healing knee, causing it to swell?

Answers:
Sounds like you did more then you were suppose to, by swimming and biking.. Put your foot up and stay off . Also if you have any pain medication you can take that for now.. You can also take up to 800 mg of Ibuprofen three times a day. Call your doctor in the morning..
Take it easy do not do so much so soon, give your knee a chance to heal.
