Does anyone know of anything to assist in someone passing a kidney stone? Ouch!?

Question:
My 23 yr. old daughter has a kidney stone and has had it for 4 days now. Trying to pass on her own. Does have pain meds to make it somewhat tolerable.

Answers:
drink lots of water, if it is small enough to pass it will eventually, if it is too big they would have seen it on the xray and sometimes it wont pass and you have to have lithotripsy where they use ultrasound to break it up so you can pass it
take a couple tylenol. if many days pass, and she experiences other symptoms, i would take her to the emergency room.
unfortunately, there is no way to assist, unless the doc says the stone is too big to be passed naturally. then it would take surgery to remove the stone. meds are the only thing that will help her get through this.
I don't know, but if she drinks one beer a day after she passes this one, she probably won't have any more of them.

...It may be too big to pass, in which case you need to take her to the doctor right now. Four days is way too long!
Ohhhhhhhh its painful. My dad had that and we akmost had to call an ambulance. but we didn't my mom came just on time. hes okay though now.
Kidney stones are more painful than having a child I have always heard.I hope she passes the stones real soon! Hang in there.Good Luck
