My son bumped is head and now he has a fever, are they related?

Question:
My son fell off a cardboard box and hit the back of his head on the leg of our table. He got a pretty good bump. Now he has a low-grade fever (about 99f). He is almost 2. Should I be worried? Could the knot and the fever be related?

Answers:
call the doctor. it doesnt seem like it would be related, unless is head bleed, or maybe it was just to much eximent in one day. well just make sure he gets rest and call the doctor. also put a cold wet cloth on his head, this should help bring down the fever.
don't be silly
Perhaps. Bring him to a hospital and check it out.
It could be hun.Get ur son to the doctor or hospital, and explain what happened. They have seen it all before,so don't be worried about going to see them. Obviously the first answer given was given by someone that doesn't know enough to comment.
I doubt that its related at all.but, with such a big and hard bump, why didn't you take him to the ER or his doctor. He could have internal bleeding in the brain or a concussion. Get off the computer and take care of your son. And, where were you when a baby, under the age of two, was "on a cardboard box"? You should be paying attention to your baby, not Yahoo! Good luck to your son!
It is not related. You could call your pediatrician. It is normal for him to be a little sleepier after a head injury or even throw up once or twice, but if he is acting disoriented or you are unable to wake him or he is unable to talk/walk, etc., you definintely need to go to the ER.
