What is the area or body parts called, just below the neck and between the pectorals?

What might be the problem if this area is sore? It feels like a sore muscle or a bruise. But, I do not remember doing anything the past few days that could have caused it. Thanks for any advice or help.

It might just be how you slept on it. I'd say if it doesn't get better in a couple of days contact your doctor.

it's called the sternum
if you have pain there it maybe a heartburn, a heart problem, a lung problem, or just a muscular problem.
to get a diagnosis and treatment you can go to the ER.
chest pain can't be diagnosed through the internet.
