As a child I fell down the basement steps and fractured my skull. The Dr said someone other than he and my parents must have wanted me to live--something of a miracle that I am here.
Having our first child. I had 4th degree lacerations from pushing and let me say it's like a cut unlike no other -
The next was treatment for skin cancer - so much for that good tan, the chemo was awful -
wow thats quite a story
when i was 13 i was riding my fourwheeler and i went over this really high jump really fast and landed straight on my butt and broke my tail bone and had to go to school the next day and sit on my butt the whole day and then went to the doctor the next week and found out i had a broken tailbone
Ouch! That is one sad story! Sorry! I broke my collar bone when I was 12 playing football. First and last time I ever played. That's all. Not as exciting as yours!
Once when I was five years old we were living in the country and I was running around the outside of the house barefoot. All of the sudden I stepped on a huge rusty railroad track spike. I fell to the ground and started screaming. My moms friend came outside and ripped it out of my foot and then I had to get a tetnis shot in my foot.
Well I would have to say it was one summer day riding our horses that we have and the horse started running because it got spooked and then it stopped all of a sudden and I went flying up over his head. I broke my back, my right hip and my pelvis. I had two young kids at home whom I could not take care of. I was in the hospital for over a week and had to do many therapies to try and help regain my strength etc. It was so hard and painful to try and learn to walk again. It has been 2 years now and although I am out of the wheelchair and am able to walk there is still some things that I cannot do. I would have to say that those were the worst injuries I have ever had.
I've broken my wrist, big toe,all five fingers on my right hand,my clavacal(collar bone) and just recently I broke my arm in four places.
I would say its a tie between my collar bone and my arm. Both hurt like hell except my arm never healed properly.
My family and I were moving cross-country in a 1975 Suburban, pulling a fully loaded cargo trailer. One of the trailer's tires blew out on the freeway, causing the entire vehicle to roll up on its side. I was in the passenger seat, and my head and my arm went out the window just in time to be dragged across the side of a mountain as the truck slid to a stop. All the skin on the inside of my arm was torn off by the rocks, my hand was pinned between the truck door and the mountain, and my head and face were covered in gravel and mud. My hand swelled to the size of a softball for over a month. They strapped me to a backboard without even letting me rinse the mud out of my mouth, and I sat in the ER like that for over an hour before they finally let me up. It took 3 months for the swelling in my hand to go down enough for me to regain some use of it and for my skin to grow back. It has been 3 years and I still have gravel in my arm and a big knot on my hand.
I was in my junior year of high school and my boyfriend and I were drinking and started to head back home, when we were nearly there, he decided to go to the gas station for a pack of smokes and well we never made it. We hit a house and he was killed. I suffered a fractured nose, Tore my retina in my right eye, a compression fraction in my back my 10th Through 12th vertebrae, Which now i only have one out of those three b/c oh how compressed they all were. I also had to have glass taken out of my ear three days after accident and I had to learn to walk, from walker, to cane to now :) nothing at all. I got slight amnesia not full thank god. At first I could not remember hardly anything now six years i can't remember childhood memories and pre-teen years but I can remember a little bit before accident and after. I don't remember the accident accept what I was told by Doctors and family. Frankly I don't want to remember b/c I coped with my boyfriends death once, I don't want to have to relive the actual events leading to his death. It is rough and it hurts but it goes away mostly I still get pains from mine.
Well I learned my lesson the hard way, Not to drink and drive.
I have other injuries but none near as bad as this incident.
I haven't had any life treathening injurie... so far. I've seen 2 of my fingers hanging; the first when I was 3 and the second at 15. Once a window broke and fell in my skull (I only needed a few stiches). I also remember sliding down 2 meters on a cliff when I was climbing and the rocks sliced my skin in the front of my leg between the knee and the foot. My bone, althought visible, didn't break. I thought I was lucky until 37 because I never have had a broken bone. Then, I was learning to snowboarding and I broke a rib. Later, at 38, I fell from the bicycle at 20 miles/hour and I broke the radius and the ulna. I think the worst was having dental surgery. Recovery from having implants took more than 1 year
MY WORST IS PROBABLY GETTING HIT WITH A LINE DRIVE WHILE PITCHING IN 1 OF MY SOFTBALL GAMES. I TURNED MY HEAD AND IT HIT ME ON THE SIDE OF MY MOUTH AND IT HURT TO OPEN AND CLOSE MY MOUTH 4 AWHILE. IVE BEEN PRETTY LUCKY WHEN IT COMES 2 GETTING HURT AND STUFF LIKE THAT BUT JUST A COUPLE DAYS AGO MY 22 YEAR OLD BROTHER GOT IN A REALLY BAD CAR ACCIDENT AND THE FLIGHT 4 LIFE TOOK HIM TO THE HOSPITAL AND HE WAS PUT IN THE TRAUMA UNIT INTENSIVE CARE THING. THE CAR HE WAS IN WENT LIKE DOWN SOME SORT OF CLIFF PEOPLE SAY AND IT ROLLED A FEW TIMES AND MY BROTHER WAS EJECTED FROM THE CAR AND BROKE 3 VERTABRAES IN HIS BACK, BROKE HIS NECK, BROKE A FEW RIBS, BRUISED HIS LUNG SO BADLY HE IS STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT CAUSE HE CANT BREATH WITH HIS LUNG. HE SCALPED ALMOST THE WHOLE TOP OF HIS HEAD AND THE DOCTORS WONT KNOW IF HE HAS BRAIN DAMAGE UNTIL HE WAKES UP. HE HAD SURGERY ON HIS HEAD YESTERDAY AND THEY DUG DUPREE WHICH IS ROAD AND DIRT OUT OF THE INSIDE OF HIS CHEEK CAUSE HE HAD LIKE A HUGE HOLE ON THE TOP OF HIS HEAD WHERE IT GOT IN THERE. THEY SAID HIM BEING DRUNK SAVED HIS LIFE AND KEPT HIM FROM BEING PARALIZED. HES PRETTY MESSED UP RIGHT NOW =(
