Thigh pain after excercise..How to treat?
Question:
I have started an excercise program and it hurt my thigh (back thigh). On Monday I started with 10 min walking. then I did leg extension and leg curl- 12/set and 3 sets. Yesterday I didn't do any leg exercise but did for arm and 20 min rowing.
I had no pain while I was excercising. But yesterday night onwards, I have this horrible pain at the back thighs and unable to walk properly. can anyone tell what it is and how can I take care of it?
Answers:
here are a few tips that have helped me..
1) first of all take a long relaxing lye in a warm bath, that should sooth the muscle pain
2) also message the muscle, making sure that u stretch well before and after exercising.
hope it helps!! :P
Pulled hammy
bananas
idk
Take it easy like walk until it heals
heat and cold alternating, and stretching before your work out would be helpful next time and take a mild pain killer. this will loosen the muscle back up... good luck and remember to stretch
Are you warming up before you exercising?
Are you OVER extending your muscles?
Are you cooling down?
It is probably a sore hamstring. If you are out of shape and not use to the exercise, the muscles will become very sore when you start your workout. Warm ups and stretching before hand and cooling down and stretching after will help decrease the amount of pain. When you just start a workout program, go into it easily. Take a couple weeks to get your weights down and figure out your limitations.
It might be sore or you might have pulled your hamstring.
Rest, Ice, Stretch lightly, keep elevated while you sleep. Our coach has us take ice baths during our season.its kind of hard to get used to because its so cold, but it really does take away the pain and helps you heal faster. Try to avoid movements that irritate it, but try to move a little (walking slowly, etc, to get it to loosen up). Sounds like a pulled muscle, you might have it give it some time to heal, but if it doesn't, could be more serious like a tear
