Forearm aches and is discolored due to overwork a week ago. Pain is not getting better.?

Question:
Painful area is in the middle of my forearm but the discoloration is at my wrist and near my elbow.
Pain is worst when I press the muscle or when I bend my hand back.
Forearm is little swollen.

Answers:
Discoloration is always caused by bleeding within the tissue. Since you were exerting yourself, I am thinking that you tore a muscle or ligament in the middle of the forearm.

Usually you see the discoloration where the tear or strain takes place, but in your case the blood may have traveled down the bone or tendon and is pooling near the joints. This is a little rare but not unheard of.

Some of the bruising (discoloration) may have been caused by the swelling that ruptures cells in the immediate area, and then releases some capillary blood into the tissue...

Call your clinic triage nurse and see if you can see a sports medicine specialist...

See your doctor immediately!

Good luck and may God bless you.
Try putting heat packs 15-20 minutes at a time every hour, will help with swelling and possibly pain
Get yourself checked to be sure you haven't torn a ligament or something. Meanwhile, rest that arm, with a minimum of mild stretching to keep it from stiffening up. Stop at once if a stretch feels like it's doing more damage. Low heat may also relax muscle tension and reduce pain.
