Sunburn help please?

Question:
just two days ago I went swimming. I've lived in West Texas all my life and been sunburned before but this time it was 96 degree weather and I didn't put any sunscreen on. I laid out for awhile and i got red later that day; the pain happend, and I could barely walk. My back is white and doesn't hurt it's just all of my front is except where my biniki was. My legs are red and I could barely walk but I'm sure that's getting better. It's just my stomach, shoulders and chest. On my chest I'm getting little bubbles not a lot just like four and they're pretty small. I read not to pop them so I just left them alone. I've been taking warm baths which really feels good, and putting aloe on it, staying out of the sun. I really hope I don't get sun cancer; it just hurts sooo baddd. :(

How long till it will go away?
What else should I put on my skin?
What kind of burn do I have. First, Second, Third?

I've been living off of Tyenol, The Tele, and Aloe for 3 days.

Treating a sunburn quickly and with healing ingredients is important to help reduce the damage and to protect against further damage.

Healing Sunburn Treatments

Aloe Vera Gel
For sunburn there is nothing better than aloe vera gel; it is antibacterial and deeply healing for burns in part because of aloectin B, which stimulates the immune system. Aloe vera gel is used in hospitals for burn victims. Aloe Vera comes from the aloe vera plant, and the gel may be squeezed from its leaves, or you can buy pure aloe vera gel as a product in most health food stores.

Vitamin E Cream
One of the antioxidants, vitamin E creams, ointments and oils, can help heal sunburn damage and shorten its effects.

Increase Your Vitamin C
Another antioxidant, increasing your vitamin C intake while sunburned will help you heal.

Black Tea Sunburn Soother
The tannins in cool black tea will help sooth a sunburn.

Baking Soda Bath
Have a cool bath to which 1/2 a cup of baking soda has been added.

Calendula Creams
Calendula is one of the most healing plants. The flowers are emollient, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antiviral. They are immune system stimulants and rich in carotenoids. Look in your health food store for calendula creams and ointments.

Avoid Petroleum jelly, as it will hold in the heat.
Have you tried Solarcaine cream? the cream helped me as it cools the skin down. hope this helps you.
it'll go away after it the boils pop and the skin peels. your doing everything exactly right at this time and idk wat kind of burn. maybe you should see a doctor and ask that question and how it can effect you (ex skin cancer). put on sun screen next time, silly =] oh& you new tan will probably have lots of discoloration but dont be alarmed. its not skin cancer. its just that the skin didnt peel perfectly. gross, but true. good luck hun& keep putting on aloe& lotion till your soaked in the stuff=]
Seems to me you have mild 2nd degree burns...hence the bubbles. I would recommend using Aloe Vera.
1st of all stay out of the sun 4 like a day or 2. then be sure to use sunblock and take cool baths or swim in a cool pool. if its your 1st few times doing this then your prob fine. maybe 2nd degree burn but itll heal in the next couple of days all u can do is wait it out. however, if mommy kisses it then youll feel all better. good luk
You're close to a second degree burn. Get Aloe Vera gel preferably the clear one (doesn't have dye), and a large container of Nivea cream, two short-sleeved T-shirts that will cover your shoulders to your stomach, not oversized, ones that is a good fit. The first night, have someone help you slather the Aloe Vera gel on, pack it on and don't rub it in. Then put on the T-shirt and go to bed carefully. The next day, your blisters and skin should feel dry, tight. Don't wet it. That night, you will do the same thing with the Nivea cream - slather it all over shoulders, chest & stomach and put on the 2nd T-shirt and go to sleep carefully. On the 3rd day, you should find your skin much improved and I would keep out of the sun for a few days until your skin is normal. Even then, I would make sure I have coverage (suntan lotion) or a shirt that covers, hat, etc. and not sun during the hours of 12-2pm because that's when the sun is the strongest. You got a case of sun-poisoning. Just be careful.
i wouldn't take a ton of baths. the water can dry out your skin. you need moister for your skin to heal. and if anything i would take lukewarm baths almost cool. your skin is burned and warm bath will only cause it to heat up more, dry out and/or crack.
i've had many sunburns, 1st, 2nd and sun poisoning. not because i'm stupid, i'm just very fair skinned. i've had blisters with all of them. i would say if you can barely walk and have blisters probably it's 2nd, if that. varying on what type it is it could take a couple days or even a week or longer. unless your dizzy or have a fever i don't think that you have sun poisoning. those are the big symptoms along with sun burn(duh). and you'd actually have to take your temp with a thermometer, because your forehead is going to feel hot to the touch, obviously, so that method won't be accurate. i don't think your going to get cancer over this. especially if you use sunscreen typically.
* you can try dermoplast. it's an antibacterial pain relieving spray. it sprays on cool and kind of numbs the area of skin a little. i use it all the time and i love it. you can get it at walmart, walgreens, any drugstore really. and i get the hospital strength.
It sounds like a second degree burn. If the pain is incredibly severe, you can go to the hospital and get burn cream, but really you're just going to have to tough it out. Drink a lot of water and take ibruprofen. Don't pop the blisters and keep out of the sun. Make sure you wear sunscreen in the future.
plain white vinger will take the burn out of your skin
I've started buying this stuff called.ocean potion. It's from bananna boat (I think). It's AWESOME! I'm glow-in-the-dark-white, and live in South Texas.so I guess most of the time I'm really more of a lobster red color. Even when I use sunscreen I still get burned! Ocean Potion is a blue or green gel with aloe - and more importantly lidocaine. The aloe treats the skin, the lidocaine numbs the pain. Feels icy cold when it goes on, but that's actually a good thing.

Another suggestion...when I was a kid, and we took month-long road trips as a family, mom always had a bottle of liquid noxema in the refrigerator of the camper. Comes in a blue bottle - and has to be the liquid. When you put it on it makes you want to jump out of your skin, but it cools the burn immediately and moisturizes so that you are less likely to peel.

With the blisters - you WILL peel. There is just no way around that. However tempting it might be, don't "help" the peel along, it can really damage healthy skin along the outer edges of the burn Let nature take it's course. In a couple more days you should be right as rain.

Oh...and you have a first degree burn with a very slight case of second degree burn where the blisters are. But keep in mind, even a first degree burn can be dangerous in that you have it over a large proportion of your body! Go naked as much as you can, as clothes can irritate the burn. Failing that, wear all cotton clothes that are lightweight. Also (and I know this sounds weird), if you start getting a "bugs-crawling-all-over-you" feeling, you may be having an allergic reaction - to the SUN! I ended up in the ER once because of it. They gave me benadryl and sent me home. I might have just saved you a trip!

Also, instead of Tylenol, try Motrin (or ibuprofen). It has anti-inflamatory properties as well as quicker and more effective pain relief.
There is a great spray you can get from the drugstore, it has lidocane in it, cant remember the name but the pharmacist could help you, it helped with my burn and the pain. Also if you can make some really strong tea, get a rag and put that on you it soaks out the burn.
