What might be causing my eyes to hurt?

Question:
My eye balls started to hurt about three days ago. This would last for a few minutes and then go away. Today it seems to have gotten much worse. It's been at least 3 hours now that they've been hurting and it's getting so bad that I'm seriously considering leaving work for the day. I'll try to describe the symptoms:

- Burning.
- Achy.
- Eyes aren't dry, doesn't feel like allergies.
- No discoloring of the eye.
- No swelling.
- No known contact with an irritant.
- Feeling of pressure behind the eyes.
- Hurts enough to make you wanna cry a little.

Any ideas?

Answers:
You need to see an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Only an examination is going to be able to tell you what is wrong with your eyes.

Place cold towels across your closed eyes for fifteen minutes. Do this several times a day.
You should just go to the doctors.
It could be that they are stressed from all the time you are awake or also being on the computer often or watching tv can do that too your eyes try a gel eye mask for 5 to 10 min. a day
