Stop the ringing?

Question:
went to gig last night and my ears are still ringing. does anybody have any tips on stopping it. I am bored of it now

Answers:
It's an occupational hazzard of being a concert goer. At smaller venues where they have cheap and nasty PAs/sound systems the band can often sound really awful and distorted.

My experience has been that the more distorted the sound - especially when it's been cranked up to 11 - the worse the buzzing is in my ears the next day. With a really good PA with no distortion, the band can be loud, but not uncomfortable on my ears. Basically, if your friend yells in your ear at a gig and you still can't hear him/her, chances are high that you will have buzzing/ringing in your ears the following day - sometimes for a few days.

I went to many gigs when I was younger and I did eventually suffer some long-term hearing damage, but it realy is minor and now I no longer go to many live shows it has sorted itself out. I learned to eventually take some cotton wool with me to gigs and when bands performed extra loud on crappy PAs, I would plug my ears enough for them to still be loud, but not deafening or uncomfortable - something I still do when I go to a multiplex and the movie is so loud it gives me a headache.
Go to another gig tonight
It goes away on its own. It is caused by the loud noise from the crowd and the music, which you were exposed to yesterday. It can take a few days
Put a cotton ball in your ear for a day or two. It will go away by itself.

The correct punctuation for the end of your rather modest sentance would be a full stop. That was a full stop. So was that. This game is silly! That was not a full stop. That was...The three consecutive dots indicate that this might go on or a while so maybe next time you should THINK BEFORE YOU WRITE.
You people make me mad. THAT was a full stop.
Hope that clears things up for you/

Our body does things to let us know that what we are doing is NOT GOOD. In this case, NOT GOOD is defined as something that is harmful/damaging/dangerous/lif... threatening -- you name it.

Most of the time our conscious mind experiences these tidbits of advice in the form of pain. You cut yourself, it hurts -- that is your body saying "hey, stupid, don't do that again!"

You pick up several quarter pounders at lunch, one doesn't get eaten, you figure it'll be okay since it was in a hot car all afternoon, so you eat it on your way home from work at 6pm. The projectile vomiting you experience for the next several hours is your body saying "hey, stupid, don't do that again!"

You get the point?

So to answer your question:

You spend WAY TO LONG at some rock concert where the noise level is DANGEROUSLY LOUD, thus abusing and FOREVER DAMAGING your body's very delicate hearing mechanisms. Your body responding by letting you hear this ringing sound for a few days is it's way of saying "hey, stupid, don't do that again!"

Listen to your body, or go deaf. The choice is yours.

There is NOTHING that can be done medically to repair the kind of damage you inflict on your ears when you go to these concerts.
