Birmingham hip resurfacing?

has anyone recieved a birmingham hip resurfacing and have you had any problems after the operation

My mom had this done 2 years ago and had problems since then, (although I'm sure this doesn't apply to everyone). Four months ago her femur fractured and she had to have a full hip replacement. She is okay now though and pain free!
yes! I had my op in september 06. In January me g.p. told me most problems settle after 12 months - hence the 12 month check up - but my groin pain has got steadily worse espespially at night. The clicking has got worse and walking up hill is a problem. I am probably in more discomfort now than i was before the op! I see the surgeon again in October. My physio thinks he will tell me it needs re-doing, not a prospect i relish. I am 56.
