Non Medication Users?
Question:
SO..
Is there anyone out there that doesn't take medication (for anything)? And may I ask why you don't?
Answers:
Yay! Me neither.
I take no medications and never will.
I don't take medications because the body has the innate wisdom to heal itself. Sometimes you need to help it i.e. acupuncture, hypnotherapy. But no one needs medication. Your body does what it needs to do all on itis own.
And before people jump all over me. Yes. I do have a disease that I was told by a Western DR I would need steroids for the rest of my life. Well, I left his care and using nutrition and a few other modalities and have been symptom free for a year.
People are just lazy and don't want to do the work. Everyone wants a quick fix.
I rarely take medication. I only take medication whenever I have horrible splitting headaches or if I'm in the hospital...I'd rather trust my doctor with my life than risk it.
I don't take mediation because it bores the bollocks off me to pop a pill and not drink.
I don't take medication for anything because there is nothing wrong with me. When I have a backache I put a hotwater pad on it, and if I have a headache I drink water and rub the place between my thumb and forefinger...I don't see the use of medications if you don't need them. Notice I said IF YOU DON'T NEED THEM. :)
I don't take medication because (knock on wood, I don't have to yet). I do take a multivitamin. Does that count?
i have no moral objection to it but i try to avoid taking anything because all drugs, prescription or otherwise, do as much harm as good...like more people die each year from taking aspirin than ecstasy...not that ecstasy is good(!) but i stopped taking painkillers several years ago and after about 6 months when i would occasionally get a headache i now NEVER get them.
medication is for the ill.your mom is not that old, that she requires medication. your too young to need it.and if and when you do and you become seriously ill, then i am sure you will.
I've figured out how to handle most of my ailments without drugs. I will take an antibiotic if an infection gets into my lungs, but not much else. A teacher (UCSB) told me a story that "scotchguard" took 20-30 years to get into the bloodstream of 80 percent of Americans. I don't know where he got those facts, but it scared me into not adding to the chemical load in my body. This also includes the types of toothpastes we use, deoderants and perfumes, and chemicals in foods. I cant control most of the chemicals in my environment, but those I can, I will.
i dont use medication if i dont need it.
i had surgery a couple of years ago and i opted not to take the morphine bc i didnt need it.
i take small pain killers for migrains othewise i choose the healthy choice and stick with natural remedies.
i dont take them bc i dont like to support the market for prescription drugs and i am also set on keeping my body at a natural balance. we were not made to take chemicals to heal ourselfs i believe that if my body feels pain then it will take care of it.
also from doing this throughout my life i have built up my immune system and pain tolerance which comes in handy every day. being pure is the answer dont flush ur body with chemicals.
i do take vitamines but theyre all natural.
I'm lucky enough to not have to take any medication I simply do not. I have been on anti-depressant when I was younger, but I felt those made things worse and that I really did not need them. I have also been on orthotricylin-lo (birth control, I don't know the real spelling of it) but each time I took it I gained weight and had a weird cycle. If I have an infection and need an anti-biotic I would of course take that, but for things like sleeping problems, "depression", sex, I rather just take care of it myself. I'm not saying that there aren't people out there who really need those types of medication, but I found that my doctors were more than willing to throw medications my way-even when I really did not need them. I literally told a psychiatrist that I did not like my medication and that I did not think I needed it and he handed me a coupon for half off my medication.
My 85 year old nana also takes not medication, simply because she doesn't need it. All she takes is vitamins. If you don't need it, don't take it!
If I have a headache that won't go away I'll take something, but otherwise I don't take anything. I've seen too many people take medication for one thing, then have to take another medication to deal with the side effects of the first, and so on, and so on....I'm in my 50's and I've survived this long doing things my way, so I'll continue to do things my way...
its ok dont worry about that ihope it isnt important if you really need it ok do it for example when do u have a terrible headache its ok but i think its very bad thing trying every day but for me its ok
As a general I try not to take medication for little things like headaches and colds, stuff like that. I believe that you can become immune or dependent on over the counter drugs. I also heard that when you get sick, by the time you start taking stuff for it ,your body is already fighting it and that it gives you a false impression that the medicine is working. I will go to the doctor and get a prescription for something serious. I got bronchitis once and that wasn't good. So drink lots of water and orange juice and get plenty of sleep and you should do just fine. If you feel like your dying, go see a doctor.
With a little extra effort, an infection, a sore muscle, a headache can often be effectively dealt with without toxic drug intervention. Modern drugs are over used.
the jenmartin is full of #$$@$. Come on people lets face it there more than likely will be a time in your lives when medicine will be required.Although our bodies are remarkable they do have their limitations. Live a healthy life and limit your chances of needing meds for an unhealthy lifestyle but believe me with age comes more and more issues that will require meds. I.E. arthritis, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, cancer etc... Not to mention the risk of accidents that will require medical intervention. remember the average life expectancy before the introduction of antibiotics was 36 after the introduction of antibiotics in a single year the life expectancy jumped to 54...Hummmm doesn,t take a mental gaint to figure this out.
