Chest Pain...?

Question:
Hi, its been three days already, but I've been having pain to the middle of my chest and it hasnt been going away. Whenever i eat, i have a short sharp pain to the middle of my chest which sometimes, afflict some pain to my lungs on either side. This goes as well when i am drinking, except its much better...does anyone know what to do before consulting my doctor?

Answers:
Sounds like a stomach issue. Most people believe that their stomach is near their belly button however, its closer to their heart. Since you have pain for a few days, you should consult a doctor. However, you may try neutralizing the acid in your stomach by taking Tums with every meal, spacing your dinner and bedtime apart and observing to see if the pain diminishes with in a few days. You may have had a a bit of GERD in which your stomach acid refluxed and caused some erosion of the esophagus. If the Tums work, you may want to consider getting a prescription for nexium.
Skip the doctor and got to the ER !
See your doctor! I take nitro when I feel like that.
Call your doctor he may have advice for helping ti and he may say get to the hospital
Do u feel numbness in your limbs esp your arms? Does the pain radiate to the back? To the neck? Is the pain gripping? If none of the symptoms, probably not chest pains but heart burn or indigestion. Either way, do go see a doctor.
this could be a muscle issue. i had this chest pain before where when i breath, it hurts.
however, if your chest does not hurt when you breath normally, it could be where the tube connects from your mouth to your stomach. highly unlikely it is your lungs, you probably feel that though the pain is most likely from your stomach. if you say that drinking doesnt hurt as much, it looks like that the tube towards your stomach has narrowed, or has an infection or some sort (you get the idea).
best thing, is to go to the doctor and he will prescribe the right medicine. if not, go to a local pharamcy (best choose one that you think they know something about medicine), tell them the problem and they might be able to help you.
if they offer pain killers, leave the store right away
I get sharp chest pain when I have any dairy products due to my lactose intolerance..

It could be a reaction to something you are eating, but you should see a doctor ASAP..
Short, sharp pains are more indicative of a gastric or muscular pain than a cardiac induced one.

I'd recommend any over the counter brands of antacids... Tums.. Maylox, Peptolbismol, etc. If any of these resolve your pain, it's almost certainly gastric.

Either way, I'd recommend you see your doctor just to rule out cardiogenic pain (such as angina, etc) and get some suggestions about diet changes to prevent recurrence of the pain.

If you feel the pain as a dull, pressure-like pain that radiates (frequently to the left arm and jaw) with some shortness of breath, I'd say skip the doc and head straight for the ER as it could be indicative of an acute myocardial infarction.
