Severe pain due to patellar tendinitis, should I quit this college's semester? ADVISE PLEASE?

Question:
One month and still can't walk normally because a severe patellar tendinitis pain. I'm still waiting for my MRI appointment and since I know they will prescribe rest am REALLY WORRIED because school starts next week. Should I skip this college's semester? If not I would have to walk 30 minutes each day up hill. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Answers:
No dont skip the semester...whenever you take a break its hard to get back into it and you may end up making excuses not to cont with school. Next thing you know you have quit school and end up in a dead end job you hate. I am really surprised you have this much pain from patella tendinitis. Have you been through physical therapy. It may help b/c you need to work on the strength of your hamstring, hip, and butt muscles to take the stress off of your quad muscle (which attaches to your patella tendon). You should also be placing an ice bag on the knee directly on the skin for 15 mins at least once a day. I hope that helps
