probably tendenitus. i would see a doc and get into some physical therapy. do you ever put ice on it?
You really need to tell someone an see a doctor it is probably just tennis elbow or something medicine an cure, but please tell your parents so they can take you to the doctor. Good luck with your team.
over use can lead to aches and pains and serious injury. in offseason consider a workout regime to strengthen your arms for preventive treatment. After games if you have pain or soreness try icing your arm in that area for 20 minutes on 20 minutes off for no more than 60 minutes iced. If your pain persists you might want to consider seeing a doctor, it can be a number of things. Tendonitis is a serious problem if that is indeed what it is. Doctor is your best bet just to make sure.
you play to much it sounds like a torn muscle. you need to rest your arm.
It sounds like it might be the tendon, but we're not Doctors on here.
For now, take a bag of frozen veggies & wrap that in a clean dishtowel. Sit down & place this on your sore elbow. You can also take two aspirin with your food.
You need to tell your folks & have them take you to a Doctor.
Hey, I play travel softball too and I have the same problem. I would definately ice it down after every practice/tournament. Also, it might have something to do with how you are throwing. If you throw with a little bit of a sidearm or you drop your elbow as you throw, this will cause the pain to which you are referring. I might suggest a product that helped me: ThrowMax. It keeps your elbow at the 90° angle necessary for proper throwing.
Good luck and I hope this helps. ;-)
Well that defintly sounds like you tore some ligaments!! that usually happens alot to baseball players! hope my answer helps!
How often do you play? Sharp pain is usually a sign that you are playing/throwing too much. Let it rest for a few days, at least a week. and then see how your elbow feels. See a doctor if the pain does not go away. It would be vital for you to ice a lot. Ice after every game (no longer than half an hour), then from time to time put a heat compact on there to increase blood flow (no longer than an hour or less, depending on how hot the compact is). When you are taking time off, talk to your coach about your mechanics. ask him if you're throwing wrong, or if you can alter your throw so it is not as strenuous on your elbow. The throw should not cause your elbow pain, so you might want to look into that. At 12 yrs. old, is it possible that you are growing and it could be growing pains? Joints grow first, then everything else so it might be that, or any combination of the above.
