Have I pulled a tendon or damaged cartilage in my finger?

Question:
2 weeks ago I woke up with serious pins & needles with the middle finger - My ring had just got stuck after the finger swelled.
Took it all off and went back to sleep. Since then my middle finger knucker is sore - I cant fully bend it, tender if I touch the sides of the knuckle (but not the top) - If i wiggle side to side it hurts.
Its starting to effect my work (Kitchen with heavy pans ect) Cant crunch my fist (Well I can but the middle finger is stuck out)
If heard of the Dr's injection steriods? into the finger - or even surgery!?
I need advice - I hate anything to do with needles but this pain is driving my mad.

Answers:
Your joint is defantly inflammed and will need steriods which have anti-inflammatory properties.

But having an injection is for only severe cases and as the next stop for people that arn't getting any or enough relief from oral medications first.
They will probably prescribe a low dose steriod such as Presidone first and some Asprin. Presidone is an oral medication.

Surgery is always the last and desperate resort.

Go and see your Doctor as soon as you can to start getting some treatment as the pain and inflammation will not go away on it's own.

In the mean time take 2 Asprin every 4 hours unless you are on an Asprin product already, another medication that is not to be taken with Asprin or have a stomach ulcer. And ice the joint. Rest it as much as you can.
Try strapping it to the finger next to it.
