okay, so i like fruit. i's sweet. but ever since i can remember whenever i eat fruit? my inner lips start to hurt and stings like crazy. that feeling really sucks so i tend not to eat fruit alot. what th hell is up? how can i cure this ailment of mine? does anyone else have this?

Answers:
This could be Oral Allergy Syndrome. You really need to go to an Allergist to be properly diagnosed. Do you only get these reactions when you eat raw fruit? The cooking process destroys the proteins that your body is mistaking for the pollen protein that you may actually be allergic to.
Also, the skins & the fruit themselves carry a certain type of mold & some specific protiens that give off reactions. The best thing would be to go to your family doctor and then they may want to send you to an allergist for treatment. Good Luck!
There are types of mouthwash with a kind of pain reliever/numbing agent in them, and the taste is MUCH better than ambesol!
Check with your local pharmasict, they usually know all about the odd random things like this.
You might want to try asking a dentist if that doesn't work.
If you really are bothered by this, ask your doctor. You may need to see a neurologist, or some other kind of specialist.

There are different levels of acidity(sp) in fruit. I can eat oranges, pineapples, things like that but they tend to irritate or burn my mouth. You may be sensitive to the acid. Unfortunately I have never found anything to help me there. I just thought I'd tell you what I have found it to be in my case..
Sometimes I chew a tums or rolaids right after eating an acidic fruit just to neutralize it.
