Shattered cartlidge... Please help.?

The vinegar smell may indicate some kind of bacterial infection. If you are experiencing pain for this long, the best thing to do is to go to a doctor. You may not like what the doctor will have to say, because he/she is likely to tell you to let it grow over. If that’s the case, you can always get a second opinion. Whatever your eventual course of action, it is always a good idea to have a professional look at it, especially since you describe pain and odor.
Best of luck.
I had the same problem with mine and I had to let it grow back and then have it repierced with a needle by a body piercer instead of the chick from Claire's like I had had before. Other then that it will never heal right.
this sounds like an infection because it still should not hurt to help it heal right you must stay out of water this is what causing it to smell and also make sure you are wearing real earings because fake earrings will damage your ear and most people are allergic to them thats why the hole be black or swelled up. if it gets worser though go to a doctor and they will give you some cream to clear it up or to save you money go to a pharmacy like wal-greens or any pharmacy and tell them whats wrong they'll give you a cure without the extra expenses from a doctor visit okay may god bless you and good luck
take it out, let it heal. if you want to get it redone, get it done at a piercing place, not Claire's. after a year of this, that's your only solution.
If I had earrings (I don't), I'd probably:
use a cleaning solution (A || B) on the earrings, and on my ear frequently (at least 2x a day), and probably treat the piercing as a wound until it healed...
A) hydrogen-peroxide
B) rubbing alcohol
If I saw no improvement after a short time, I'd probably try some antibiotic ointments overnight (make sure you work it into the center of the hole)...
