What vitamins or minerals to use?

My nails have slight cracks, they r weak and my hair is thin and falling.. i need to know which vitamin supplement shud i take and what vitamins and minerals must it contain... should i go for cod liver oil capsules with omega-3.? please help...

Neither, take Biotin. You can buy a multivitamin specifically for hair and nails. The main ingredient should be Biotin. It should also contain Calcium for the nails. The Biotin is good for your hair AND nails. The Multivitamin should contain Vitamin E, B-6, B-12, MSM, Paba.

Just get a supplement that states it is a SKIN HAIR and NAIL VITAMIN. These work Great! IT should have Biotin as I said. I have used this for years. My hair is silky and soft and grows so fast. My nails are much better than they used to be. Oh try not to use nail polish. You may be allergic to nail polish. That is how I found out. It made my nails crack and chip. Try just using vitamin E oil and rubbing it along the top of the nail and the bed of the nail.
ohhhh i can help you!the best is to take gelatin.. yes, jelly, but without flavour, do you know it? in my experience, it makes my hair grow and my nails become harder and grow faster. you can take the jelly in a powder, mmm I don't know how you know it in your country but here in Argentina in the supermarkets it is avaliable and cheap!! i take it mixed with soup or with eggs or any food...
that's why the material of your hair and nails (and of your skin) is made of proteins that are made with the amino acids present in the jelly...
but besides theory, that you can find everywhere in the web, i tell you that in my case it worked and wroks!! try it!
i think you can also get it from capsules of some kind...

Take over the counter prenatal vitamins. I take them and I am not pregnant. It really does help with hair and skin.
Plenty of zinc might help but make sure you stay well below the generally regarded toxic dose of 80 mg a day.

Plenty of Vitamin A (up to 10,000 IU a day) might also help.

Plenty of calcium might also help.
