Find a wound Clinic near you!! I had a wound for 3 years and they put me througth all those surgery and I went to a wound Clinic and they healed it. They can do a culture (use a sterel cotten swab and rub it in the wound to find out if it is infected or not and if so what antbiotic will work best with it. If she is a Diabetic that can be a contributer but they have many diffrent types of things to help it heal they can evan put her in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber which is 100% oxygen and heals almost ALL WOUNDS vist a wound Clinic before she considers Surgery
see another doctor if it starts smelling it could be gangrene i dont know how to spell gangreen but its really bad my uncle got it but you should get a second opinion most doctors dont give a sht
try some over the counter things first. gotta keep it from getting infected more than anything. neosporian or those creams. gauze and wrap it to keep it clean. i hope that it gets better for her.
Did she do something to hurt her leg? If so What? Could be alot of different things. Is she a diabetic? Healing times for a diabetic is much longer than normal.
Find the nearest Wound Care Center and make her an appointment. They will help her. Those doctors know the correct medicine for each wound.
see another dr. a.s.a.p. she could have infection or be a diabetic.
