How to get rid of a migraine while at work?

Question:
Does anyone have any insider tips on how to get rid of a migraine while at work. I sit in front of a computer all day drafting and we have horrid fluorescent lighting in here? Any ideas?

Answers:
I suggest taking at least a minute long break every 15 minutes to look away from the screen, and maybe do some neck stretches. My first medical line of defense after I start getting one is then to take sudafed (for the pressure) and ibuprofen (for the pain and associated muscle tightness). If that doesn't work within an hour, I take a triptan drug. Maxalt works for me, and no longer even makes me drowsy, but see your doctor and make sure you get on the right one for you. There's a balancing act of course, where the side effects of the drug could be worse than the migraine itself, but very little is worse than a migraine in my book.
Migraines are eye related headaches and are really bothersome, try to rest your eyes periodically if you are always in front of the computer at work... if possible try putting computer monitor filters to lessen the strain on your eyes... and try to make an appointment with an opthalmologist, you may have to get corrective lenses
Send the boss on an errand. You will experience immediate relief.
Close your eyes and cup your hand over your nose and mouth. Breathe in and out through your nose taking long, drawn out breaths. Breathe like this for several minutes until your body feels relaxed.

"Carbon dioxide helps to dilate smooth muscle tissue. Insufficient carbon dioxide can cause spasms throughout the body, including the brain, the bronchi, and other smooth muscle tissues. Good examples are the spasms that take place during asthma attacks and migraines."

this will relax your body and ease most migraines. Feel better!
what i have done is i look away from the computer screen for a few seconds and that usually takes care of it...or take something for it like advil or something like that.
ewww. I get them all the time. I know that everyone is different, but this is the only thing that works for me. Get some advil (or generic ibuprofen) and take 3. Drink some coffee or something with caffeine in it and then close your eyes for a few minutes. The Advil doesn't seem to work for me if I don't close my eyes. These headaches are brought on by the bright lights and the strain you put on the back of your neck when at a computer.well at least for me because I can't see very well and I am always straining. Try it. I get these headaches so bad that if I don't do that, I will throw up.
