tylenol doesn't make them go away. The harder stuff, like Premysen, makes my head too cloudly to actually concentrate on anything - what should I do?

Buscopan (trade name) (drug is hyoscine butylbromide). It is a Antispasmodic agent. See pharmacist before taking it though as you can not take if you have certain intestinal and stomach problems or glaucoma or pregnant.

My girlfriend takes two ibuprofen. A lot of times she avoids caffeine and chocolate a week before her monthly. Also she has been exercising and she said that has reduced her cramps to almost none. Maybe you could try a few. Good Luck!
How to prevent from getting sick ALL of the time?
ibuprofen works best for nasty cramps (it's what i use and i have had cramps so bad-they've landed me on the couch for 2 days).
take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours. avoid caffeine about a week before and during your period-this will help lessen the pain.
if you have time to on a lunch break (or do so after work) go to the store and pick up these special heating pads made by playtex specifically for cramps. they are applied to the outside of your underwear and work off of your body's natural body heat. you can wear them for up to 8 hours and they are wonderful. you can even sleep with them. they come in a box of 3 for about 10 bucks. they should be wear all the feminine products are kept or in the first aid section with the other heating pads.

I get really bad cramps every month and I went to my gynocologist. She suggested 800mg IBU's. They seem to work great. Have to repeat doses every 6 hours, but it really works for me. You may want to make sure you don't have anything more serious though, like cists or something, so always best to visit the doctor. Also try to avoid anything with caffiene before and during your monthly cycle. It prevokes the cramps even more.
